How We Handle Patient Data
Patients and dental teams are asking a fair question these days: “Is AI reading my health information?” Here is our answer, in plain language.
No ChatGPT. No chatbots. No generative AI.
InstantVerify AI does not use ChatGPT, large language models, or any generative AI service in the operation of our product. Patient information is never sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Microsoft, or any other AI provider — not to answer questions, not to process records, not for any purpose.
Patient data is never used to train anything.
No patient information processed by our software is used to train, tune, or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else’s. It isn’t collected for that purpose because it isn’t collected at all — see below.
What our software actually is
Despite our name, the working part of our product is robotic process automation (RPA) — software that performs the same steps a trained front-desk employee performs: it reads the day’s schedule in your practice management system, logs in to your insurance carrier portals with your office’s own credentials, and writes down the eligibility and benefits information it finds. The same clicks, the same lookups, done automatically. It follows fixed rules. It does not make judgments, predictions, or decisions about any patient — and no AI, generative or otherwise, ever reads, interprets, or makes decisions about patient information. That work is done entirely with fixed, deterministic rules.
Where the data lives
Our software runs on your dental office’s own computer. Schedule information, patient details, and verification results are processed locally and stay on the practice’s systems. Nothing is uploaded to InstantVerify’s servers — we don’t have servers that receive patient data, by design.
The fine print, because honesty matters
Our software includes a self-contained learning component that helps it keep pace with insurance carrier portals — the login pages and layouts carriers change over time. It learns about portals, never about patients: no patient information is used, stored, or used to train it, and it’s our own software, not an outside AI service like ChatGPT.
Like most modern software companies, our developers may use AI coding tools to help write and test our software. Patient data plays no part in that process and is never accessible to those tools.
